Truly, every part of this Pinterest-worthy tented wedding day in Maine was bursting with color, life, and love… It was so good that I found myself joking with the bride’s mom about planning my wedding someday. Not only was this a labor of love, it was a very intentional and community-focused wedding day.
Notable magical moments:
- The rehearsal took place on Peak’s Island, a ferry ride away from the mainland.
- The bride’s dream day was brought to life on the very land she grew up on as a child.
- The wedding party flitted through her childhood home, exchanging words and rushing to complete their looks.
- The ceremony took place in the sun-drenched valley nestled right by the river.
- The guests enjoyed an oyster bar, charcuterie, homemade N/A drinks, and two full bars.
- The tented reception overflowed with colorful florals and mismatched china.
- The night started with a live polka performance by the groom’s dad.
- The night wrapped with a DJ, also a family friend.

From the ‘gram:
I’ll never get sick of flying across the country to shoot wedding days like this one in Saco, Maine.
I love a family event, ones where you arrive and the house is abuzz, someone is making the cake and the flower girls are in full hair and makeup, pajamas still on, licking the frosting spoons.
Music is pumping from both inside and outside, the chairs are being set up by the uncles and cousins, the aunts are inside, away from the sun, doing final touch-ups…
There’s a magic in the air that everyone came together to make this possible, and it never ceases to amaze me. I want to bottle that feeling up and save it for a rainy day.
